#MeatFreeMonday | Curry Wurst Sauce Recipe

Today I will be sharing with you a traditional German vegan sauce which you can add to your sausage substitute. Same as in Malta you find lots Pastizzi places, in Germany you find stalls that sell Curry Wurst. When I was touring Freiburg with my sister I have found a stall, in the market next to the cathedral, that sells vegan and organic Curry Wurst. 😀

So to do your own Curry Wurst sauce you will need:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp curry
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups ketchup

Heat the oil in a pan and add the onion. When the onion is transparent add the paprika and curry. Make sure that the spices and the onions are mixed. Then add the ketchup and the water.  Boil until the sauce is thick. Then serve over cooked/fried veg sausages. When serving you can sprinkle more curry on top of the sauce for extra flavour.
