Cook-a-do Good and Healthy Food!

Food that is good for you, your family and the environment is the panacea for all ills or difficulties we face day-to-day! But how easy or difficult is it to cook such food?

The cooking demonstration will be carried out by John Portelli who will guide you step by step how to build a repertoire of recipes that will make your cooking more exciting and tastier by exploring the use of HERBS and SPICES, an essential part of cooking, if not the most important as they can transform an ordinary tasting dish into an incredibly delicious dish.

Most probably have a drawer full of spices, but find if difficult or have no idea how to use them effectively with your food! Then this is your opportunity to put your herbs and spices to good use. Not only are herbs and spices an effective way add zest to your meal, but they also have a slew of health benefits.

Furthermore, cooking good food has nothing to do with using expensive exotic ingredients. With the help of a good selection of FRESH ingredients, herbs and spices, any boring dish can be turned to a flavoursome dish that stimulates the taste buds with the right notes.

Join us for a programme for Good and Healthy cooking once a week over five weeks, starting this Thursday 10th November.

We have planned a series of cooking workshops that appeal to all those that would like to expand and improve their cooking repertoire using simple ingredients, that do not cost an arm and a leg to buy, and can all be prepared in a short time, by planning in advance.
You can either choose to attend all the sessions or you can even to choose any session you’d like.

Fee: €10 each session or €45 for paid up front for all five sessions

  1. Rush-Rush – How to cope with a busy schedule and still eat good and healthy food?
  2. Cooking on a budget – Do you need to spend a fortune to eat like a king?
  3. Out of the Box – Choose to eat food that is seasonal, clean and sustainable for yourself and the world!
  4. Recycle food – and so we have some left over from yesterday! How can you turn it into a dish that looks and taste completely different!
  5. Bring your own ingredients – Let’s have some more fun and challenge our creativity skills.

Session would end with food tasting, and herbal teas.

Time: 6.45 (so as to start at 7 pm)

Dates: 10, 17, 24th November, 1 December

The last session to be decided since the 8th is a public holiday.
