Right now, until I manage to find a job, I buy clothes only when they are on sale. I have a maximum budget for every garment type and if I skip it I have to justify it. When buying, I make sure that what I buy matches the Pantone Fashion Color for the next seasons.
What is the Pantone Fashion Color Guide?
For every two seasons, being Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter, the Pantone website publishes a list of colors that were popular during New York Fashion Week. Last February’s New York Fashion Week featured the Fall/Winter 2017 Collection. Pantone managed to publish the Fall/Winter 2017 Color Guide also in February. Therefore from March onwards, I could start looking for clothes I could wear next autumn and winter.
So let’s go straight to the fashion color guides from Pantone for this year.
Pantone Fashion Color Guide – Spring 2017, NYC
These colours seem to inspire makeup brands such as Pupa Milano and puroBio. It does make sense as your makeup has to somehow match what you wear. Pupa Milano seems to have used shades matching Pale Dogwood and Hazelnut for its Pink Muse Spring 2017 collection. While for their Savanna Summer 2017 collection they have included also Flame and Kale. Vegan and organic puroBio focused on Hazelnut, Pink Yarrow, Island Paradise, Primrose Yellow and Greenery for its Beleza collection.

Pantone Fashion Color Guide – Fall 2017, London
For the first time Pantone featured also the Pantone Fashion Color Guide for Fall 2017 inspired from the London Fashion Week. As you can see they are quite similar shades. Navy Peony is found in both the NYC and the London fashion color guides.
Next time you go shopping, and you have no idea which color to buy, either go with the default blacks and whites or use this Pantone Fashion Color Guide. I find it helpful, I hope you do too.
