Is Veet cruelty-free or vegan in 2022?

Since day one of my cruelty-free lifestyle, I have noticed that cruelty-free hair removal products are not yet common. The only brand of hair removal products I know of is Veet and since day one of my cruelty-free lifestyle, I knew already that it is not cruelty-free. So since then, it is either shaving with razors, waxing at beauty salons as they are grey area brands or laser hair removal at Estetika for me. Today I will be explaining why I haven’t used Veet these last 10 years.

Is Veet certified cruelty-free?

Quite the opposite really, PETA claims that Veet is not cruelty-free. This also means that Veet is not certified cruelty-free.

Is Veet owned by a certified cruelty-free parent?

Veet is owned by Reckitt Benckiser. PETA claims that Reckitt Benckiser is not cruelty-free.

What is Veet’s cruelty-free status?

As mentioned earlier Veet is an animal testing company. If PETA hadn’t yet listed it as so, I would have gone further on whether Veet or its third parties test on animals.

Is Veet vegan?

Since we already saw that Veet is not cruelty-free, I don’t think it would be relevant to know whether their products are vegan. However, since there are those who might not trust PETA, I can say that Veet is not vegan. Maybe they have some vegan products, but I wouldn’t be looking into it.

Which brands should I support instead?

I have recently found a certified cruelty-free brand of hair removal products. Unfortunately, it is not available in Malta. However, it can be shipped to every European country including Malta. If you are interested in trying it out, find Nad’s products on my cruelty-free catalogue.
