Review: Vegetarian food and Suruchi

It was on March 2014 when I had visited Suruchi Restaurant in St Julians for the first time. My blogger friend Denise, my sister and I had decided to go there for an Indian lunch.

As I do in every Indian restuarant I go to, I open the menu and see if they serve my favourite Indian vegetarian dish, Palak Paneer. For those who never ordered this Indian dish before, Palak Panner consists of a cheese called paneer, which I assume it is used as a vegetarian alternative to meat, mixed with a thick and spicy spinach sauce. :'( (mouthwatering)

To my surprise this dish wasn’t available anywhere in the menu, I was already starting to feel sad till I found a side note asking to refer to the staff for other preferred dishes. So that’s what I did, and they gladly cooked my favourite dish for me. 😀

After eating the main, it was time for the dessert. Although, Kulfi, my favourite Indian dessert also wasn’t in the menu they happened to have it.

I went on other occasions to Suruchi once with my belly dance classmates, another time with my boyfriend for one of our monthiversary, and recently I had been invited by the restaurant owner to taste other vegetarian dishes like Aloo Gobi, Vegetable Mattar Curry which were also delicious and again my favourite Palak Paneer. The portions were big for my small stomach, so I took them home and split the left overs into 2 or 3 lunches.

Now that I went through my Suruchi photos, I am feeling the need to find another occasion to visit Suruchi soon. Haven’t had Indian food for a long time now, so it’s about time. XD

If you’re planning on visiting Suruchi, check out some deals I found on deal.com.mt.
