My only experience with Elizabeth Arden was when I bought one of their celebrity perfumes. At the time so I was happy as I could rebuy my favourite perfume. I did buy two more perfumes. However, some months later I was shocked to hear that it was no longer considered to be cruelty-free. Let’s understand together why it is no longer cruelty-free.
Does Elizabeth Arden test on animals?
- “We do not perform any animal tests on our product formulations or ingredients, nor ask others to test on our behalf, except in the rare instances where required by law.”
This paragraph is saying that they don’t test on animals usually. However, when required by the country’s authorities they do. A few years ago, many companies that sell in China were saying the same thing. Nowadays, they reworded it. For some reason, Elizabeth Arden did not reword this sentence. Not sure why. If they are testing on animals themselves, by law they should be banned from selling in Europe. It could be that just like Revlon, they split their company into two companies, one for Europe and one for Asia for example. So, different to what I was replying for other brands that sell in China, it seems that Elizabeth Arden does test on animals.
