I am following some Maltese vegan facebook groups, to keep myself up-to-date with the vegan news in Malta. A few weeks ago, one group member shared a list of Wagamama vegan menu options available in Malta. Some are vegan and some you would need to ask the staff to make it vegan for you. With her permission, I will be sharing with you this list.
- Mixed Mushroom and Panko Aubergine Hirata Steamed Buns (ask for no mayonnaise)
two fluffy Asian buns stuffed with mixed mushrooms and panko aubergine served with Japanese mayonnaise and coriander - Yasai Cha Han (ask for a vegan version as it contains egg)
stir-fried brown rice with tofu + vegetables, egg, mushrooms, mangetout, sweetcorn and spring onions. served with a side of Japanese pickles - Yasai Katsu Curry
sweet potato, aubergine + butternut squash coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, covered in an aromatic curry sauce served with sticky rice and a side salad - Yasai Itame
rice noodles in a spicy green coconut and lemongrass soup topped with tofu + vegetables, stir-fried bean sprouts, red and spring onions, bok choi, peppers, mushrooms and chillies. garnished with coriander and lime - Yasai Pad Thai (ask for a vegan version as it contains egg)
tofu + vegetables, with rice noodles in a tamarind sauce with egg, bean sprouts, leeks, chillies and red onion. garnished with fried shallots, peanuts, fresh herbs and lime - Yasai Ramen (ask for a vegan version as it contains omelette)
traditional Japanese omelette, crispy fried silken tofu and mixed mushrooms on top of noodles in a light vegetable broth. a non-gluten version of this dish is available. please talk to your server - Yasai Samla Curry
fragrant lemongrass and coconut curry with tofu, peppers, shiitake mushrooms and baby plum tomatoes. served with white rice and garnished with spring onion, chilli and coriander - Yasai Steamed Gyoza
