Thalgo is owned by Thalgo Group. As this corporation is not as big as L’Oreal and other beauty corporations, I could not find anything on Thalgo Group’s cruelty-free status. However, I cannot assume that they are not cruelty-free as they also own brands that are considered to be cruelty-free.

Is Thalgo certified cruelty-free?

No, Thalgo is not certified cruelty-free.

Is Thalgo cruelty-free?

From what I could find Thalgo is not cruelty-free. I will explain why in the upcoming questions.

Does Thalgo sell in Mainland China?

Yes, Thalgo sells in Mainland China. In their list of stockists, China is listed and they don’t mean Hong Kong as Hong Kong is listed and linked.

Are Thalgo products in Mainland China are cosmetics?

Only soaps and oral care products are not cosmetics in Mainland China. The rest is cosmetics and are at risk go through animal testing by the authorities without warning the company. Companies selling in Mainland China know this. However, they either think that the authorities would not need to confiscate their products and test them on animals, or they just don’t care.  From what I know Thalgo does not sell soaps or oral care products, but they sell other skin and body care products. So yes, Thalgo sells cosmetics in  Mainland China.

Which brands should I support instead?

If you are looking for a brand who is serious about its anti-animal-testing policy. Check my list of brands that are against animal testing.
