Beauty comes from within … The interview – Part 1

Please tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m 25 year’s old, half American half Gozitan and living in Malta – quite the mix and I even got the accent should I need to prove it. I graduated from University with a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and Classics and I’m hoping to find the time to finish my master’s degree as well. I’m learning to play piano and working on my first diploma in music theory. I’m quite an optimistic, happy go lucky person, shy at first, but just until I get to know those around me. I’m very passionate about what I do and when I really want something I don’t let anything get in my way.

Tell us about your pet/s. (if any)

I have cat, part Persian whose name is Rooney, my dad insisted on naming him after the footballer. Sometimes I think he’s the reincarnation of Garfield as he’s fat, happy and loves to be pampered. At home in Gozo we practically have a whole zoo, with a black lab named Archie (who will do anything for attention), an adopted stray cat named Squeak (who is now princess of the house), a parrot named Ben and whole family of cats who took up residence in our yard, who we neutered and vaccinated and now consider them our own.

What made you choose to participate in the Miss World Malta?

Last year I was contacted by Modelle International to compete for the title and I agreed, thinking that it would be a nice experience, never imagining that I would ever win it. During the preparations I became very interested in the Miss World competition and realised that representing Malta in Miss World is something that I absolutely have to do and after placing second in last year’s edition I decided to give it another shot so now I’m back again and this time I’m here to win!

What made you choose a cruelty-free brand to be your sponsor?

I’m a big supporter of cruelty free products. I use them myself as much as possible in fact! I’m a true animal lover and I can’t stand the thought of helpless creatures being tortured on behalf of humans. I’m thrilled to have Lily Lolo and Cruelty Free Malta backing me in this competition. I’m extremely grateful for all their help and support and I’m really excited to help promote their products.

Name 5 of your favourite cruelty-free brands.

I’d have to say that my favourite brands are:

  • Lily Lolo,
  • The Soap Café,
  • PUPA Milano,
  • ELF cosmetics and
  • Handmade Naturals.
